Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 7, 2026
Short version: BeanDB collects anonymous usage data to improve the app.
No personal information is ever collected. You can opt out at any time in
Settings - Privacy.
1. What we collect
BeanDB may collect anonymous usage events to understand how the app is used
and to improve the experience. Examples of events include: brew logged,
recipe created, tab viewed. These events contain no personal information.
Each installation is identified by a randomly generated ID that:
- Is not linked to your name, email, or Google account
- Is not linked to your device identifier
- Is replaced with a new random ID if you opt out and opt back in
- Is permanently deleted if you request data deletion
2. What we never collect
- Your name, email address, or any account information
- The names of your bags, roasters, or coffee origins
- Your brew scores, notes, or flavor descriptors
- Your location or IP address
- Any device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, advertising ID)
- Data from other apps
3. How we use the data
Anonymous usage data is used solely to understand which features are used
most, identify bugs, and improve BeanDB. It is never sold, shared with
advertisers, or used for targeted advertising.
4. Your choices
You have full control over your data:

Opt out: Open BeanDB - Settings - Privacy - turn off
Anonymous Usage Data. Data collection stops immediately.

Delete your data: Open BeanDB - Settings - Privacy -
Delete My Data. All events associated with your anonymous ID are
permanently deleted from our servers.
5. Data storage and security
Anonymous usage data is stored on servers located in the United States.
All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Data is
automatically deleted after 12 months.
6. Third-party services
BeanDB uses the following third-party services:

Google Sign-In - for optional account creation.
Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Drive - for optional cloud backup.
Backup files are stored in your personal Google Drive and are not
accessible to us.

RevenueCat - for in-app purchase processing.
Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
7. Children
BeanDB is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect
any information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the
effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after
changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
